AMSTERDAM — Ann Thane, former mayor of Amsterdam, will lead a tour of the Mohawk Valley Overlook Pedestrian Bridge Wednesday, May 24, at 5 p.m. The bridge tour is being organized by the Amsterdam-Gloversville-Johnstown branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) as part of their May meeting. Following the tour at 6 p.m., the branch, will have dinner and a business meeting at Parillo’s  Armory Grill on Bridge St. which is nearby.
The pedestrian bridge opened last August. It provides a connection to the Riverside Park, which includes a pavilion for entertainment, a playground, a restaurant, memorials and docking for boats traveling the Mohawk River.
The public is invited to join the tour. Parking is available in a lot at the southern entrance of the bridge which can be accessed from Bridge St. off of Route 30S.
