New York State troopers from Albany on Saturday helped deliver a Gloversville woman’s baby while she and her husband were on their way to the emergency room.
According to a release, Kristi Koppenhafer, 25, and her husband Adrian gave birth to their daughter Skylar Ann with the assistance of state troopers Matthew Spickler and Kyle Filli while pulled over on the Thruway Exit 24 ramp in Albany.
Troopers said they responded to a report of a disabled vehicle and discovered that Koppenhafer was inside having a baby. After assessing the medical situation, the troopers requested an ambulance.
Shortly after a successful birth, EMS arrived and transported everyone to a local hospital where they were reported to be in good health.
