EPHRATAH — The month of June at the Caroga Creek Speedway included 128 karts filling the pit area.
According to Jim Hillier Sr. of the Caroga Creek Speedway, a total of 16 different divisions competed with the Winged Champ Kart Series at the 1/5 mile track in the final feature of the night staging the series No. 3 event of the 2017 racing season.
The Winged Champ Sportsman Shootout was captured by Jeff Swartz. Jeremiah Wagner bested the all star field in the 20 lap battle. Matt Chavis was second followed by Chris Darrow, Jeremy Tuttle and Ryan Swartz. Dodge City Speedway honored Courtney Crews with the Sportsmanship award.
The month of July started off with another special event on July 1 when a regular points event No. 5 will take place along with Clash at the Creek No. 3 event for the Clone 340 division that saw Eddie Sickles claim the $500 win on June 3. Also, the Central NY Unlimited All Stars were showcased.
Caroga Creek Speedway is at 4200 Route 10 in St. Johnsville.
