GLOVERSVILLE — Site work is underway on the athletic fields at Gloversville Enlarged School District’s middle and high school campus. The work on the fields includes drainage for upgrades that will begin this summer. The upgrades include a multi-use track and grass field, all-weather synthetic turf field, tennis courts, softball and baseball fields. The next phase of the $37.8 million capital project — slated to begin in spring of 2018 — will address infrastructure, health and safety issues such as: masonry, sidewalk and paving repairs, heating ventilation, air conditioning, window and door replacement, lighting upgrades, floor and ceiling replacement, insulation work and more. Traffic patterns are also to be improved for student safety and vehicle access. Classroom doors will be strengthened for increased security. The project is expected to be completed by fall of 2018.
