PERTH — The Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce has scheduled its annual Staff Appreciation Luncheon for noon April 24 at the Raindancer Restaurant on Route 30.
The event aims to help chamber members honor their employees with a special luncheon, award presentations, gifts, and door prizes.
Each year, the chamber recognizes the staff in member businesses with the presentation of the Employee of the Year Award.
Last year’s Jenny Award honoree, Sue Kiernan, will present the Chamber Community Service Award, developed from the Jenny Award which originated in the Fulton County chamber and the Herbert T. Singer Community Service Award which originated in the Montgomery County chamber.
The original Jenny Award was created in honor of Jenny Ketchum, the late proprietress of the former Glove Inn, who was a volunteer involved in many chamber programs and activities.
The original Herbert T. Singer Award was created in honor of Herbert Singer of Amsterdam Printing and Litho, who was a supporter of the Boy Scouts and was the first Eagle Scout in Montgomery County. He also supported the Community Chest/United Way as an original board member, as well as the Masons, receiving the highest honor as a 33rd degree Mason.
Chamber members who want to submit a nomination for the Employee of the Year Award or the Community Service Award should send information to the chamber office at 2 N. Main St. in Gloversville, fax it to 725-0643, or e-mail them to [email protected] no later than Monday, April 1. An online form is available at
