6:30 p.m. — St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 7 N. Main St., will hold an Ecumenical Fireside Gathering. Join everyone for a relaxed worship experience around the fire with music and laughter. Invite a friend or neighbor. Bring a lawn chair and a roasting stick for marshmallows. Food and drinks will be provided.

7 p.m. — The Caroga Chapel, Route 10 and Chapel Rd., will host its first free bluegrass concert of the summer season. The Durey Creek Bluegrass Band will perform and the evening’s program will consist of a variety of bluegrass and gospel songs. Admission is free. Donations will be accepted to support the programs of the Caroga Lake area churches.

10:30 a.m. — The Gloversville Public Library, 34 W. Fulton St., will begin its Traveling Story Hour at the Fulton County Museum, 237 Kingsboro Ave., and will continue the story hour through the summer and host it at different locations throughout the city each week. 11a.m.-noon — The Gloversville Recreation Commission is sponsoring community tennis clinics for children eight and older. They will take place at the Darling Field tennis courts. All are welcome and no experience is necessary. The clinic is free of charge and instruction will be coordinated by area tennis players Carol Schery and Ellen Wood.
The Gloversville Sewing Center will host a full day Beacon of Light Workshop with Molly Waddell. The cost is $55. Registration is required and can be completed on the Gloversville Sewing Center website.

noon — The 50 Plus Club in the Shirley J. Luck Senior Center, 109 E. Main St., will hold its annual summer picnic at Vrooman’s in Caroga Lake. The seniors will be car pooling from the senior center. The theme for the day is red, white and blue, so come dressed in your best patriotic colors for a chance to win a prize. 7 p.m. — Foothills Family Productions presents their Children’s Summer Theater production of Roald Dahl’s “WILLY WONKA, JR.” at Fulton-Montgomery Community College Theatre. 9 a.m.-1 p.m. — The Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts, 2736 Route 30, will hold a Kid Cooking Camp for ages 6-12. This popular culinary camp is back with more tasty treats for children to make and eat. Campers will keep busy in the professional teaching kitchen as the chef instructors teach them to make three gourmet lunches. Kids will also make fun food related art projects to take home.
