Broadalbin-Perth 1,

Queensbury 0

Broadalbin-Perth secured a tie for the Foothills Council title with a victory over Queensbury.

B-P can win the title outright with a victory over South Glens Falls on Friday. South Glens Falls can earn a share of the league title with a victory over B-P, but a SGF loss or tie will give the title outright to the Patriots

Ethan Church provided all the offense, scoring unassisted 20 minutes into the game.

“The slick conditions made it tough for both teams to sustain a lot of pressure and much of the game was played between the 18s,” said B-P head coach Brian Henry.

B-P (10-0-3, 12-0-3) outshot Queensbury (8-5, 10-5), 12-10.

B-P keeper Madison Wilcox made five saves to earn his 10th shutout of the season.

Western Athletic Conference

Galway 3, Northville 0

Ryan Pappalau tallied two goals and Jacob Miller scored once to key Galway’s win over Northville.

Galway (12-1-3) keepers Shane Marshall and Evan Ceroala combined for five saves to get the shutout.

Todd VanNostrand had five saves in the net for Northville (8-6-1).

Mayfield 1, Canajoharie 0

Thom Perham headed a shot past Canajoharie keeper Andrew Smith 15 minutes into the game to lead Mayfield past Canajoharie.

Mayfield finished the contest, holding a slim 4-3 shots-on-goal advantage.

For Canajoharie, Tyler Towse was excellent in defense and Dominic Mazzarella was dangerous up front. For Mayfield, Corey Klingbell, Jake Palmer and Eric Wilcox were excellent in defense.

Moore lifts Galway

past Mayfield

GALWAY — Maddy Moore scored twice to lead the Galway girls soccer team to a 4-0 victory against Mayfield in Western Athletic Conference action on Friday.

Carolyn Gibbins had a goal and two assists for Galway, while Kelly Phillips added the remaining goal for the club. Rebekah Reichard had six saves in the shutout.

Jennifer Little had 13 saves for Mayfield.

Mayfield 1, Canajoharie 0

Kelsey Burton scored on an assist from Anna Husain 8:08 into the game to lead Mayfield past Canajoharie.

Mayfield improves to 3-11-1.

Canajoharie outshot Mayfield 6- 5.

Northville 2, Galway 1

Madalyn Ryan and Georgiana Maye tallied a goal apiece to lead Northville past Galway in a battle of WAC North leaders.

The victory puts Northville at 8-1 in league play while Galway falls to 8-2.

Abby Spagnola scored the lone goal for Galway.

Northville 1, Canajoharie 0

Allison Wadsworth’s first half goal helped the Lady Falcons close out the regular season with a win over Canajoharie.

Northville (11-4-1, 9-1-0 WAC) gpalkeeper Kristi Bills posted the shutout with five saves.

Canajoharie (6-10 WAC) got nine saves from keeper Stormy Young.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Western Athletic Conference

Galway 3, Mayfield 0

Emily Martin had 13 digs and three kills as Galway completed an unbeaten league season to clinch the WAC North with a 25-19, 25-22, 25-22 sweep of Mayfield.

Katie Zawisa added six kills and five assists for Galway (14-1, 13-0 WAC), while Rachel Jones had 15 digs.

Whitney Ostrander led Mayfield (12-4, 10-2) with eight kills, while Caitlyn Denton had seven assists. Nicole Little chipped in with 11 digs, four kills and four blocks.

Foothills Council

Broadalbin-Perth 3,

Scotia-Glenville 0

Regan Reed compiled 10 assists and three aces and Tessa Reed chipped in with five kills, five aces and one assist to propel Broadalbin-Perth to a win over Scotia-Glenville.

B-P (5-8) won by scores of 25-21, 25-23, 25-12.

Samara Smith helped the Lady Patriots with five kills, four blocks and three aces and Allison Wehr finished with four kills and two aces.

takes crossover contest

The Broadalbin-Perth Patriots were 35-0 winners this Saturday against Coxsackie-Athens. The Patriots scored 21 points to break a scoreless tie in the second quarter.

B-P’s (2-6) R.J. Pingitore completed half of his dozen pass attempts for 120 yards and two touchdowns.

Defensive lineman Zach Bulger returned an interception 15 yards for a touchdown.
