NORTHVILLE - With a goal to aid in a community effort, students at Northville Central School are holding a bake sale to end childhood hunger in Northville.
Breads, cakes, cookies, muffins and pies will be on sale during the annual NCS boys basketball Christmas tournament on Tuesday, Dec. 27, at 6 p.m., in the Northville Central School gymnasium lobby.
The bake sale is part of the Share Our Strengths Great American Bake Sale National Campaign to end childhood hunger in America.
Northville Central School teacher Kristin Harrod, with her seventh grade home and career class, is joining millions of people across the country who are making a difference by aiding the fight against childhood hunger in America, and it’s as simple as hosting a bake sale.
The seventh grade students have been baking some of their favorite recipes in their new state-of-the-art home and careers classroom at Northville Central School.
Harrod and the students will be there early during their holiday break on Tuesday, Dec. 27, to finish up all preparations, and set up for the bake sale at the school’s basketball tournament.
Harrod and the students are happy to be having bake sale, as part of Share Our Strengths Great American Bake Sale movement. This is a national campaign that mobilizes Americans to end childhood hunger by holding bake sales in their communities.
This year, nearly one in four children across the country struggle with hunger. That’s more than 17 million kids.
Funds raised in Northville will be used to support Share Our Strengths efforts to end childhood hunger in America. Share Our Strength works to surround kids facing hunger with nutritious food where they live, learn and play.
