MAYFIELD - The Mayfield Elementary School’s annual Turkey Trot took place last Wednesday, Oct. 26 despite the threat of some rain.

“It was a great event” said Mayfield Elementary physical education teacher Brian Moore.

Mayfield Elementary physical education teachers Hillary Cool and Brian Moore coordinated the school wide effort. There were 116 participants this year from grades four through six. The course was just under a mile long and went along the outside of the athletic fields behind the elementary school.

All of the other grades kindergarten through three came out with their classes and helped cheer the participants on, along with a great parent and family spectators in attendance.

The Mayfield Elementary PTA purchased first place trophies for the first place boy and girl finishers in fourth, fifth and sixth grade, with a special thanks to their contribution.
