The show must go on

Saturday’s rain dampened the Mayfield Historical Society’s Strawberry Festival, but not the community spirit. Since the show must go on, the Strawberry Festival was held at the Mayfield Central Presbyterian Church complete with strawberries, biscuits, ice cream and whipped cream served, and entertainment by Gary VanSlyke. Over at the Rice Home, house tours were still available, and a loom weaving display continued throughout the day. Both sites were busy with community support. The next Mayfield Historical Society event will take place on Saturday, July 9 with the annual summer Ice Cream Social from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rice Homestead located at 328 Riceville Road in Mayfield.
