Ring of fire

The Great Sacandaga Lake’s traditional end of summer celebration, the ring of fire, could be seen clearly from almost any vantage point across the lake. The fires were lit at dusk showing their glow along the lake’s shore, followed by a spectacular moon rise and fireworks. Here, a large bonfire surrounded by many spectators on Paradise Point in Mayfield was one of hundreds to be seen.
