Take the walking tour and see the art for auction in Northville

This summer Northville is abuzz with activity.Adirondack Chairs and More (ACAM)...Sit and See Walking Tour and Silent Auction are bringing excitement to the village.All around town, in addition to Adirondack Chairs and benches are placed many beautiful works of art, a display of regional talent. The event is sponsored by the Northville Presbyterian Church, and all items are up for Silent Auction for the remainder of the summer.

Bidding is increasing, and the anticipation is building.Walkers can be spotted with ACAM Walking Tour brochures as they stroll from shop to shop throughout the village to view the art that is on display.

Bidders can pick up a brochure from local stores and place a bid as often as they wish with the possibility of owning and enjoying a masterful work of art forever.

The pieces of art are included in an on-going Silent Auction until Aug.28, at which time all of the art will be brought together on Northville’s Village Green (corner of Main and Bridge Streets). Join the fun on that day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.for Lemonade on the Lawn as the final bids are placed and the winners announced.

This week’s featured artist is Constance Dodge, a professional artist, who showed her work at the Amos Eno Gallery in New York City for 23 years.She now owns the Dodge House Lakeside Gallery, 963 South Shore Road, Batchellerville, New York.

Dodge has taught Fine Arts for thirty-one years. While the majority of her experience has been dedicated to developing the artistic talents of high school students, she spent two years teaching full time at Adirondack Community College. In addition, she has been an adjunct instructor at Sage Junior College, the College of Saint Rose, Empire State College, and Goddard College.

Her work appears in many private collections, both nationally and internationally including the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington D.C. and Artpool in Budapest Hungary. Her work has also appeared in New York Magazine.

Regionally, she is a professional member of the the Guild of Adirondack Artists and the former Director of the Oakroom Artists, a group in existence for 52 years.
