NORTHAMPTON — The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office announced on Thursday the arrests of two individuals believed to be connected to several recent burglaries in the town of Northampton.
Shane R. Laport, 17, of 933 County Highway 123, and Gary A. Ligon, 23, no known address, have been charged with second-degree burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny.
On June 27, authorities executed a search warrant at Laport’s Northampton residence, in which several items that have recently been reported stolen were allegedly located.
Both Laport and Ligon have been remanded to the Fulton County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
In a press release, Fulton County Sheriff Thomas Lorey said his department is continuing to investigate several additional leads in the case. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fulton Crime Tips Hotline at 736-5561.
