Herbert and Ruth Spaulding of Mayfield, (formerly Crown Point) celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Saturday June 23, 2012 with a small family barbecue hosted by their children and friend Pete Wilcox of Mayfield. Herb and Ruth met in schoolmates at Crown Point Central, they married June 20, 1947 and honeymooned in Canada and Niagara Falls. They owned and operated the Crown Point Agway (formerly GLF) for over 40 years working into their 70’s. The Spauldings have three children, Richard (North Bangor), Douglas (Ticonderoga) and Vicki (Mayfield); six grandchildren Eric, Kevin, Tammie, Tara, Katie and Veronica; and seven great-grandchildren Eric Jr, Jayson, Brady, Kayla, McKenna, Avja and Gabriel. A Citation from Senator Hugh Farley was presented to the couple congratulating them on their accomplishments both personal and professional and their outstanding commitment to each other over these many years.
